Moreover, chia seeds have a unique property of forming a gel-like substance when soaked in liquid, which can help slow down the absorption of carbohydrates and stabilise blood sugar levels. Balanced blood sugar levels are crucial for hormone regulation, as imbalances can impact the production and balance of various hormones in the body.
These seeds are also rich in dietary fiber, which aids in digestion and supports healthy gut function. Adequate fiber intake can help regulate estrogen levels by promoting regular bowel movements and facilitating the elimination of excess estrogen from the body.

+ Cacao mass

We use organic single origin cacao beans from smallholder cooperatives in Uganda. It contains high concentrations of all the beneficial substances of the cacao bean, such as polyphenol and flavanoid antioxidants, tryptophan, anandamide, phenethylamine or theobromine.

+ Cacao butter

Cacao butter is a natural fat extracted from cacao beans. It gives our bars the creamy, smooth and melt-in-the-mouth consistency.
Cacao butter is full of healthy fatty acids, such as oleic acid, palmitic acid and stearic acid. We, women, need a dietary fat to maintain a healthy hormone balance. Without enough fat in the diet, our bodies don't work properly, and all our systems such as endocrine and immune system are affected. Read more here.
Cacao butter is also incredible for a vibrant and healthy-looking skin. The polyphenol antioxidants, phytochemicals and vitamin E contained in cocoa butter have been proven to improve blood flow to the skin, slow skin aging, soothe sensitive skin and to protect it from free-radical damage.

+ Dates

We sweeten our bars with date powder - dried dates that have been ground into a granulated form. It gives our bars a caramel flavour with a hint of a fruity aroma. It is natural and unprocessed since it doesn't undergo refining and bleaching processes as refined sugar. As a result, it retains its natural nutrients (such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, vitamin B6) and fibre content.
Dates are rich in dietary fibre, which is essential for digestive health and can help regulate blood sugar levels.
Moreover, dates have a significantly lower glycemic index compared to refined sugar, meaning they cause a slower and steadier rise in blood sugar levels. This makes them a better option for individuals who need to manage their blood sugar levels, such as people with diabetes.

+ Maca root

Maca naturally supports the first half of the menstrual cycle (days 1 -14).
It is loaded with nutrients, including amino acids, fatty acids, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium and polyphenols which are essential for for optimal hormone production and regulation. + Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha, an adaptogenic herb, is best known for its ability to reduce stress. It naturally supports the second half of the menstrual cycle (days 15 - 28), when cortisol (stress hormone) levels are elevated.

+ Quinoa

Quinoa is a highly nutritious grain-like seed. It is considered a complete protein because it contains all nine essential amino acids, making it an excellent source of protein for vegetarians and vegans.
It also provides essential nutrients like fiber, vitamins (such as folate, vitamin E, and B vitamins), minerals (including iron, magnesium, and zinc), and antioxidants.
Moreover, quinoa contains phytoestrogens, which are plant compounds that mimic the effects of estrogen in the body. This can help balance hormone levels, especially during menopause, and may alleviate symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings.
Quinoa is also an excellent plant-based source of iron. Iron is essential for maintaining healthy blood cells and preventing iron-deficiency anemia, which is more common in women, especially during pregnancy and menstruation.

+ Freeze-dried raspberries and red currants

Berry fruits are among the healthiest foods you can eat – they are extremely nutritious, loaded with antioxidants as well as several vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C. Thanks to the gentle freeze-drying, the beneficial nutrients are largely preserved.
Both raspberries and red currants are a great source of beneficial plant compounds and antioxidants, such as anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and resveratrol, which have strong anti-inflammatory properties. They help to protect your cells from free radical damage, decrease wrinkling and other signs of skin aging, improve your blood lipid profile, and reduce the risk of many chronic diseases.

+ Goji berries and dried oranges

Oranges and goji berries are also an excellent source of vitamin C, which is essential for maintaining a healthy immune system. Adequate vitamin C intake can help women combat common illnesses and infections. Moreover, they contain B vitamins, which are involved in energy production and are essential for the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood.
